Karevo is designed for agricultural businesses that spend a lot of time manually sorting potatoes by quality. It is particularly suitable for direct marketers and family farms that want to make their sorting process more efficient and precise.

General
Karevo was developed for quality sorting of potatoes after storage, directly before sale to end customers.
Installation
Depending on the version and individual requirements, the installation is usually completed within one day. Slight variations may occur depending on the specific business and its needs.
Currently, the system has two outlets: one for rejected goods and one for saleable goods. Models with more outlets are under development.
No, a connection is not required for regular operation. However, internet access is needed for remote maintenance and updates (e.g., via Wi-Fi or hotspot).
Yes—as long as the system is connected to the internet.
Sortierleistung
Currently, unwashed, yellow-skinned potato varieties can be sorted. In the future, red potatoes will also be possible.
Currently, the focus is on potatoes. An expansion to products like carrots or onions is planned.
The Karevo system can sort up to 5 tons per hour. The throughput depends on the uniformity of the potatoes. If they are irregularly shaped or very large, the conveyor needs to be slowed down to ensure optimal detection.
The system can detect defects such as greening, wet rot, dry rot, wireworm, growth cracks, and mechanical damage. Clods and stones can also be sorted out.
Yes. Karevo’s AI models have been adapted to and trained on unwashed produce. As with detection by humans, detection improves the cleaner the tubers are.
We support you during setup to ensure Karevo's machine is adjusted for your requirements. Targeted adjustments can continuously improve sorting accuracy. As with any automated system, completely error-free sorting is technically not possible.
Operation
Yes. For example, if higher throughput is desired or a variety is not yet recognized, the optical system can be deactivated and Karevo can be operated like a regular conveyor table.
Yes. Both the sorting sensitivity and the defect size can be individually configured.
Our team will be on site for about 3 days during commissioning. The system is individually configured for your facility, and you will receive comprehensive training.
No. The user interface is intuitive and user-friendly—a short introduction is sufficient.
Other
AI is a technology that enables machines to learn from data and make independent decisions, similar to the human brain. In Karevo's machine, AI quickly and accurately detects defects and continuously improves itself.
Yes. Karevo uses machine learning and continuously improves its models with new training data.
We are in contact with various funding agencies. We will provide updates on this soon.
