The technology behind the sorting

Every Karevo machine runs an artificial intelligence that inspects each individual tuber. It spots defects, stones and clods in a fraction of a second and sorts exactly as strictly as you decide.

How detection works

    Cameras photograph every potato and onion from several angles as it travels across the machine.

    Detect

    The AI checks every image for defects and foreign objects and rates how large and how severe each defect is.

  3. 3

    Sort

    The decision takes a fraction of a second: good produce moves on, while defective tubers, stones and clods are sorted out.

    During commissioning we take images of your potatoes and onions – with your varieties, your soil and the defects that are typical for you.

    We use these images to train the AI further until it judges your produce the way you and your buyers expect.

    Improved AI models reach your machine as an update. No technician visit is needed.

    The AI keeps learning

    If the machine gets one wrong, report the tuber with a swipe on the screen. We use these reports to keep improving detection.
